A practical guide to AI search.
Understand what to review on your website as customers use AI-assisted search to discover, compare, and choose businesses.
Start with the questions your customers ask.
People use AI-assisted search to compare options, understand unfamiliar topics, and narrow a decision. Your website should explain your offer well enough to help with those tasks: who it serves, how it works, what it costs, and what makes it a good fit.
This guide gives you a practical review process. Treat it as a way to improve the usefulness of your site, with progress judged against observable business outcomes.
01. Describe your business consistently.
Use clear service names and accurate business information across your core pages. Explain where you work, which customers you help, and the limits of your offering. Resolve contradictory or outdated descriptions before creating more content.
02. Answer useful comparison questions.
Explain the differences between services, what an engagement includes, what affects pricing, and when a customer should choose another approach. Give each question enough context to be useful without forcing every sentence into an FAQ.
03. Support claims with real evidence.
Use examples, clearly described methods, and attributable experience. When you publish results, explain the scope and context. Avoid vague claims that your business is the best or that a specific outcome is guaranteed.
04. Review access and structure.
Check that important pages work, have a clear hierarchy, and link to supporting material. Review bot controls deliberately with your technical team; different systems may use different access rules. Structured data should accurately describe visible content.
05. Track what you can observe.
Monitor identifiable referrals, relevant page engagement, and inquiries. Document how you test AI responses and repeat observations over time, recognizing that answers can change. Do not equate a single mention with dependable market visibility.
Keep your sources current.
Google’s documentation is a useful starting point for understanding its own AI search features. Other platforms have their own guidance and access controls, so check the systems that matter to your audience.

A few good questions.
Is there a guaranteed AI ranking formula?
No. Systems select and generate answers in different ways, and responses vary. Focus on accurate, useful information and a technically sound website.
Can I use AI to help write content?
It can help organize a draft, but someone with relevant knowledge should verify the facts, add original experience, and make sure the finished content actually helps the reader.
Keep exploring.
