FAQPage JSON-LD Generator

Add your questions and answers.

The schema should describe FAQ content that users can actually see on the page. Do not use the generator to create hidden questions or answers that are only present inside the structured data.

Step 1

Enter Your FAQs

Step 3

Generated Schema

0 FAQs
WordPress / Divi: Add a Divi Code Module to the same page that contains the visible FAQ section and paste the generated script into the module. The schema can be near the bottom of the page; it does not need to display visually.
Important 2026 Update

Google discontinued FAQ rich results in 2026. Adding FAQPage markup does not create a special expandable FAQ result in Google Search. FAQPage is still a Schema.org structured data type that can provide machine-readable context to systems that support it.

How It Works

FAQ schema describes content that is already on the page.

Structured data gives machines an additional way to understand what a page contains. FAQPage markup identifies a page as containing a list of questions with answers supplied by the site itself. The markup does not replace the visible FAQ section. The questions and answers should exist in the page content and the structured data should accurately represent them.

This generator outputs JSON-LD, a script-based format commonly used for structured data. JSON-LD can normally be added without changing the visual design of the page. If you are new to structured data, my practical SEO guide includes a larger section on structured data, crawlability, indexing, sitemaps, robots.txt, hreflang, and technical SEO.

Schema markup is only one part of technical SEO. It cannot make a weak page rank, fix indexing problems, or replace useful content. If you are troubleshooting broader issues, see my website SEO audit services.

CMS Instructions

Where should you put FAQ JSON-LD?

JSON-LD can generally be placed in the page head or body. The important part is making sure the markup appears on the same canonical page as the visible FAQ content.

01

WordPress / Divi

Add a Divi Code Module to the page containing the FAQ and paste the complete generated script into the module.

02

WordPress / Gutenberg

Add a Custom HTML block to the page and paste the complete JSON-LD script. Keep the visible FAQ content elsewhere on the same page.

03

Shopify

Add the JSON-LD to the relevant page or template using a Custom Liquid block or your theme code. Avoid adding page-specific FAQs sitewide.

04

Squarespace

Use page-level code injection when your plan supports it, or an appropriate Code Block that accepts script markup on the page.

05

Wix

Use Wix Custom Code or Velo and limit the markup to the relevant page when possible. The visible FAQ should match the generated questions and answers.

06

Webflow

Open the page settings and add the generated script in the page's custom code, commonly before the closing body tag.

07

HTML Website

Paste the generated script into the head or body of the individual page. Placing it before the closing </body> tag is usually simple.

FAQPage vs. QAPage

Use the schema type that matches the page.

FAQPage and QAPage describe different types of content. FAQPage is intended for a page where the website publishes a question and provides the accepted answer. That is the typical format used for a company FAQ, service FAQ, product FAQ, or informational article.

QAPage is intended for a different experience: one primary question with answers that can be submitted by users, such as a community question-and-answer page. A normal business FAQ should not be marked as QAPage simply because it contains questions and answers.

Validate Before Publishing

Generated code should still be checked.

The generator creates valid JSON syntax from the questions and answers you provide, but you should still validate the final page after implementation. A CMS, plugin, page builder, or copy-and-paste mistake can change the markup after it leaves this tool.

The Schema.org Validator can check the structure of the markup. Google's current structured data documentation is also useful for understanding how Google uses supported markup.

Remember that valid structured data is not a ranking guarantee. Search engines decide how and whether they use markup, and supported search features can change over time.

Questions & Answers

Common questions about FAQ schema.

What is FAQ schema?

FAQ schema is structured data that describes a page containing questions and answers supplied by the publisher. The Schema.org type is FAQPage, and each FAQ is represented as a Question with an acceptedAnswer.

Does FAQ schema still create FAQ rich results in Google?

No. Google discontinued FAQ rich results in 2026. FAQPage markup can still provide machine-readable structure for systems that support Schema.org, but it does not create Google's former expandable FAQ search result.

Should the FAQ questions be visible on the page?

Yes. The structured data should accurately represent content that users can access on the page. Do not create questions and answers only inside the JSON-LD while hiding them from visitors.

What is the difference between FAQPage and QAPage?

FAQPage is for publisher-created questions with an answer supplied by the site. QAPage is for a page focused on one question where users can submit multiple answers, such as a community Q&A site.

Where should I place FAQ JSON-LD?

JSON-LD can be placed in the head or body of the same page containing the visible FAQ. In a page builder such as Divi, a Code Module on that page is a straightforward option.

Does FAQ schema help SEO rankings?

Structured data can help machines understand content, but adding FAQPage markup does not guarantee higher rankings. Technical accessibility, useful content, relevance, authority, internal linking, and other SEO fundamentals still matter.

Can I use this tool for Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and Webflow?

Yes. The generated JSON-LD is platform independent. The CMS selector provides general instructions for where the script can be added on several common website platforms.

How do I test FAQ schema?

Use the Schema.org Validator to check the final markup and inspect the live page after publishing. Also make sure the visible questions and answers match the structured data.

Need More Than a Generator?

Schema is useful, but technical SEO is bigger than one script.
